Top 10 Local Picks: Must-see local hot spots:

1. Mango Deck

A great spot for people watching, the Mango Deck sits right on Medano Beach in Cabo San Lucas. Go ahead and grab your swimming trunks and Bikini’s because you have the choice of sitting with your feet in the sand or under the cool shade of the Palapa. Reasonable prices, great drinks, fun atmosphere—what more could you want? One more thing, we must warn you that if you see a man walking around with a bullet harness and a huge poncho then it is probably too late. This guy loves corrupting anyone out for some fun with his impressive quick draw with his tequila shooters!

2. Pancho’s Restaurant & Tequila Bar

With chefs from all over Mexico (Mexico City, Guadalajara, Oaxaca, Sonora, ect) this spot promises authentic Mexican dishes and fresh seafood. Just one block up from the Marina in old downtown Cabo San Lucas, this restaurant boasts that most of their clients return time after time. They have the world’s largest tequila collection, offering over 500 tequilas and tastings. Why do we keep coming back? Is it the great cuisine or the tequila—you decide!

3. The Fish House

located right in the center of Cabo San Lucas, upstairs from the action at the sidewalk Tanga Tanga Bar (another hot spot with the locals). This fish house has a great atmosphere with a spectacular salt water aquarium and casually elegant dinning. As we are sure you guessed by the name of this restaurant the specialty is fresh seafood. We never knew there were so many ways to prepare seafood! With local connections with the fisherman they promise the freshest selections including live Maine lobster, fresh oysters, and clams, you name it and they have it.

4. Latitude 22 Restaurant & Bar

Now we know a lot of you don’t need to know anymore, with a name like that you are almost guaranteed a great atmosphere and a plethora of Marine folk. Located a mere walk up from the Marina in downtown Cabo San Lucas, this is a fun spot to check out. What more do we need to say? How about the fact that these guys serve up some awesome slow roasted Croatian prime rib, great BBQ beef ribs (for all you hard core eaters check out the all you can eat rib night), seafood, and don’t forget the well known “Big Mike” burger. Full bar with fun happy hours and loads of fishing and sailing memorabilia.

5. Sardina Cantina

This is a little Sports Bar and Grill, located near the Costa Azul (blue waters) beach on the Corrider. Sardina Cantina is also known as Tezez because the owner Tez is on a first name basis with most of his customers. This is a lively little spot bustling with loyal locals and sports fans from neighboring resorts. Locals don’t simply go here for serious sports action, these guys serve up some really great food. Some of our favorites are the T-bone steaks, the prime rib, the Dick’s Pick burger, the Philly cheese steak, the spaghetti del Mar, boy we could just go on and on!

6. La Dolce

Whether you are in Cabo San Lucas or San Jose del Cabo, this is where you will want to be when you start craving Italian! Now Baja isn’t exactly known for its Italian but La Dolce is home to home made breads, pastas, pizzas, seafood, and great salads. Oops—did we forget to mention that they specialize in beef carpaccio (not to mention their lasagna—one of our favorites). Listen to great music and enjoy the outdoor patio dining and great wine selection.

7. Baan Thai

that’s right—Thai food in Baja! Located in the heart of San Jose del Cabo. Here you will find authentic Thai food presented by chefs brought over from Thailand. Beautiful interior and patio seating complimented with fountains, and hand crafted bamboo tables. Tucked away on a tiny side street in San Jose del Cabo, Baan Thai offers all sorts of goodies that are sure to knock your socks off. Now we must warn you that you may be there for a very long time choosing between the great appetizers, salads, curries, and Wok specialties.

8. The Hangman

now don’t bother asking us why this place is called The Hangman. All we know is that they frequently have our favorite live music and it is sure spot for some good clean fun. The Hangman is located in the outskirts in the Chamizal distict of San Jose del Cabo. Cabo This hotspot doesn’t bother serving beer or spirits so if you are interested, just bring your own. Another bonus about this spot is that it is very inexpensive and it offers unusual yet absolutely terrific tacos! Can we interest you in the Cantonese Rib, beef tongue (a local favorite), chicken, pork—no problema!

9. Pescadero Seafood Market—El Mercado del Mar

this restaurant is very non-touristy and is defiantly popular with the locals, it is located just outside of San Jose del Cabo. This Market is on the way into or out of Los Cabos from the airport, it is the first or last spot to get your delicious seafood goodies. Great fish and seafood specialties, many folks agree that these guys specialize in the Margarita as well!

10. Brisa R.V. Restaurant

I know it may sound strange that we are suggesting checking out a RV/Trailer Park but, well we are. This trailer park is located in the outskirts of San Jose del Cabo and is home to tons of locals, it is a wild community that is worth checking out. These guys have an extensive menu with the choice of eating in the Palapa Restaurant, patio/pool side, or at the Bikini Bar. Sit back and relax while listening to live music Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday’s. Our favorite is the all you can eat Mullege Pig roast, they roast the whole pig right there by the pool and it is defiantly a mouth watering experience.
